The delicate balance between product and purpose was the driving force behind the entire design system. Constant collaboration between Google’s team and ours—both designers and developers—resulted in refined designs, with a technical solution to support it.
When working within such a precise and detailed design system, it's not hard to produce an outcome without much variety. However, the balance of rules and freedom gave the design team an incredible foundation to create some truly stunning work.
Another Google project that I was fortunate to be part of was their Stadia platform. I was tasked to create emails that would depart from the typical sleek Google style, and design something more relatable to the gaming community.
In the end the most important part was to highlight the games. We placed in-game footage inside of the emails to make them more impactful and engaging for the target audience.
